A former surface and underground Cu-Au-Ag-Fe-Baryte mine located in the NW¼ sec. 13, T7N, R13W (Salome 15 minute topo map). Owned at times, or in part, by Wilkinson; Josephi; Kane; Cuprite Investment Co.; Prescott; and, Nohlcheck. NOTE: Alternate coordinates provided: 33.95N, 113.87778W.
Mineralization is spotty, oxidized copper ores, with high gold values, associated with strong showings of specular hematite in fissure veins along a strong NW-striking fault zone, cutting Precambrian metamorphics. Intrusions of diorite and granitic dikes. High gold values in specular hematite near the surface. The gangue is baryte.
Originally prospected in the early 1900's and worked intermittently by shallow tunnels, open cuts and shafts from 1903 through 1942. Produced some 430 tons of ore averaging about 5.5% Cu, 0.65 oz. Au/T, and 0.3 oz. Ag/T.
