A gold-copper prospect located in North-central sec. 14, T8S, R21W (protracted), at the northern end of the Gila Mountains, on land of unknown status. Owned by Mr. Harry McPhaul.
Mineralization is schist and marble that strike S85W & dip from 55 to 75S. and have been cut by several faults of minor magnitude. A strike fault with schist foot wall and marble hanging wall, contains a vein of coarse-grained, vitreous, gray quartz that ranges from a few inches up to 4 feet thick.
Workings include a few shallow pits.
A Cu-Au prospect with surface workings located north of center sec. 14, T8S, R21W, in the northern end of the Gila Mountains, on BLM-administered land.
Mineralization is a vein deposit with ore in irregular bodies and lenses in metamorphosed Mesozoic (?) sediments near Mesozoic granite. A strike fault, with schist footwall and marble hanging wall, contains a vein of coarse-grained, vitreous, gray quartz that ranges from a few inches (5 cm) up to 4 feet (1.22 meters). In places, the copper minerals are sufficiently abundant to colour the whole width of the vein. The area has been cut by several faults of minor magnitude.
Workings on this prospect consist of a few shallow pits. No production record.
