Arizona Bureau of Mines file data.
A Au-Ag-W-Fe-Cu mine group loated in the SW¼ sec. 18, NE¼ sec. 19, and West-central sec. 20, T5N, R12W. Owned at times, or in part, by Bunker; Stehle; and Campbell.
Mineralizaiton varies: (1) Pockety and irregular deposits of siliceous gold-silver ore in brecciated quartz lenses and veins, usually associated with iron oxides, in fissure zones cutting Precambrian metamorphic schist, gneiss, and quartzite and with minor associated copper; and, (2) Stringers, blebs, and narrow discontinuous seams of scheelite along cleavage or fissure zones, with quartz, in Precambrian metamorphics.
Workings include shaft, adit and open cut operations, worked intermittently from the early 1900's through 1956. Production of precious metals, mainly as high silica-gold flux ore, would be some 430 tons averaging about 0.4 oz. Au/T and 0.6 oz. Ag/T, plus some 1,100 short ton units of 60% WO3 was produced in the 1950's.
