Latitude: 32°35'26"N
Longitude: 114°5'42"W
A former underground Au-Ag-Mo mine located on 2 claims in the NW¼ sec. 2, T10S, R18W, NE end of the Wellton Hills, on federal land. Started in 1897. Owned at times, or in part, by Eaton; Svenson; Messrs. J. Ryan & G. Swenson; and, Hindman.

Mineralization is quartz veins near aplitic dikes associated with two-mica granite intrusions, and includes spotty pockets of gold in banded and iron-streaked quartz, gouge and breccia in a fault zone cutting massive Mesozoic gneiss. Aplitic dikes in the vicinity. The vein occupies a nearly vertical fault zone that strikes N56W.

Local rock is gneiss that is rather massive and weathers dark gray. The area has been considerably affected by faulting.

Workings include 3 old shafts at 50, 100 and 230 feet (70.1 meters) deep, respectively, plus about 90 feet (27.43 meters) of tunnels on the 100 level. This mine was worked sporadically from 1897 through 1940, producing some 145 tons of ore averaging about 7% Cu, 0.25 oz. Au/T and 0.1 oz. Ag/T. $4 or $5 of Au per ton (period values). Molybdenum anomaly.
