A Au-Ag placer deposit area located mainly in secs. 21 & 28, T.4N., R.20W on the East side of the Dome Rock Mts, West of Quartzite. Additional workings are located in sec. 28 (sec. 21 per MRDS), T4N, R20W, on BLM-administered land; all minerals are government property. It lies East-West for 4 to 5 miles by 1 mile wide at the eastern foot of the mountains. Owned at times, or in part by many early workers; Middle Camp Placer Gold, Inc.; La Cholla Mining Co. Ltd.; and, the American Coarse Gold Corp. Operated by Desert Gold Properties (1986). Lat-long from clump of prospect symbols along stream.

Mineralization is gold with silver in gravels near bedrock with some hard caliche. The gold is coarser near the mountains and on old terraces. The best gold values were in gravel channels and crevices in bedrock Mesozoic schist but the gravel is mainly from granitic rock. The source of the gold was numerous small, gold-bearing quartz veins and stringers on Middle Camp Mountain.

Workings include numerous small dry placer operations with surface, pit and shaft openings, from the 1860's to recent times (circa 1978). Total estimated and reported production would be some 6,000 oz. of gold with 750 oz. of silver.
