Latitude: 32°46'30"N
Longitude: 114°14'47"W
A former Au-Ag placer mining area located in West-central T7S, R19W & East-central T7S, R20W and in parts of T7 & 8S, R8, 9 & 10W, South & central Muggins Mountains. There were numerous small operators.
Mineralization is gold-bearing gravels, with reported rich pockets, in the headwater forks of Vinegarroon Wash. The gold was derived from disintegration of older gold placers in cemented Cretaceous gravels and quartz veins in adjacent Mesozoic schist and gneiss.
Workings were sporadic placer operations, mostly prior to 1900, with numerous surface workings.
