A former underground Au-Cu-Ag mine located in the center (SE¼SW¼NE¼) of sec. 27, T4N, R16W (Vicksburg 15 minute topo map), on land of unknown status. Owned by the Stafford Mining Co. (1911).
Mineralization is spotty, oxidized gold and copper ores with quartz in a fissure vein in Cretaceous or Tertiary andesitic volcanics.
Workings include shaft and tunnel operations. This mine was worked from 1908 through 1911. It produced some 150 tons of ore averaging about 0.34 oz. Au/T and 0.5% Cu.
