Hovatter claims group (Barbie claim; Bomboy claim; Hilltop claim), Sheep Tanks District, Little Horn Mts, Yuma Co., Arizona, USA

A manganese group of claims located in West-central & South-central sec. 7 & the NW¼ sec. 17, T1S, R14W. Owned by Hovetter.

Mineralization is manganese oxides, mixed with calcite and brecciated wall rock, in stringers, pods and overlapping lenses, in irregular veins and flat, tabular bodies in a large zone of shears in Tertiary andesite flows.

Workings include open cut operations. This group of claims produced some 250 tons of sorted 18% Mn ore during the period 1953-1954.
