A manganese mine located in the SW¼ sec. 25, T2S, R23W (protracted). Owned by J.F. Powers.
Mineralization is pyrolusite mixed with wall rock breccia and calcite in a steeply-dipping fracture zone with disconnected, lenticular, mineralizaed lenses in Tertiary andesitic volcanics.
Workings include a shaft, tunnel, and open cut operations. This mine was worked from 1955 into 1959. It produced some 4,000 long tons of ore averaging about 30% Mn.
