A former surface and underground Mn mine located in West-central sec. 1 & East-central sec. 2, T1N, R21W. Owned at times, or in part, by Snipers; Smith; Jarrell; and, Richardson.
Mineralization is pyrolusite mixed with brecciated wall rock in shoots along a fracture zone in Tertiary andesitic volcanics.
Workings include a shaft, adit, and open cut operations. This mine was worked as early as 1930 and later in 1954-1955. It produced some 300 long tons of ore averaging about 20% Mn.
