A former gold placer mine/deposit area located in secs. 1&2, T.2S., R.23W.
Mineralization is spotty gold placer deposits in stream beds draining from an area containing small gold quartz veins in Mesozoic schist.
Workings include dry placer operations on a small scale, and intermittently, from as early as the 1860's into the 1940's. Possibly as much as some 323 oz. of gold were recovered containing a few oz. of silver..
