A former Au-Ag placer deposit/mine area located in South-central sec. 20 & North-central (W½) sec. 29, T.23S., R.11E, on National Forest land. Owned/operated at least in part by the Gold Bar Mining Co. (1975).
Mineralization is flour to small nuggets of gold with alloyed silver in a gravel terrace derived from numerous weathered gold-silver-bearing veins, and blanket deposits along several gulches and their tributaries.
Workings include mostly crude operations prior to 1900. Possibly up to 1,000 oz. of gold-silver amalgam were produced.
