A Cu-Pb-Zn-Ag-Au mine located in T.20S., R.14E., at the north end of the group of claims. Owned at times, or in part, by Powers & Stockton; Garrett & Parks; the Elephant Head Mining Co. (circa 1915); and the New State Mining Co.
Mineralization is partly oxidized sulfides in a quartz fissure vein and in a sheared and altered zone along rhyolite dikes cutting Laramide quartz monzonite wall rock.
An 18 inch (45 cm) wide quartz vein in the granite dips 80ºN., is somewhat banded, and contains sericite, copper carbonates and sulphides.
Workings include adit and shaft operations with a 1,500 foot long crosscut tunnel. Worked in the early 1900's and in 1913-1914. The group produced some 950 tons of ore averaging about 8% Pb, 3 oz. Ag/T, and minor Cu, Zn, and Au.
