A former small underground Cu-Pb-Ag-Au mine located in the SE¼ sec. 12, T.21S., R.14E, 8 miles NW of Patagonia, N of Alto Gulch, and very near to the Alto group, on National Forest land. Produced 1910-1925. Owned at times, or in part, by Hooks; and, Bond.
Mineralization is partly oxidized argentiferous galena and chalcopyrite with pyrite in an irregular, lensing quartz-fissure vein cutting Cretaceous rhyodacite tuff and interbedded arkose.
Workings include adit and shaft operations. Worked in the 1910's and 1920's. Produced some 140 tons of ore averaging about 6% Cu, 5% Pb, 20oz. Ag/T, and 0.7 oz. Au/T.
