A former small underground Pb-Ag-Cu-Au mine located in East-central sec. 18, T.21S., R.15E, 6 miles NW of Patagonia, on National Forest land. Produced 1914-1918. Operated at times, or in part, by the Ruby Copper Co.; and Pierce.
Mineralization is disseminations and spotty high-grade ore shoots of sulfides, oxidized and enriched near the surface, along and in a quartz-fissure vein cutting Laramide diorite and engulfed blcoks of Cretaceous volcanic tuff and arkose.
Workings include shaft operations (Lee shaft). Worked from about 1914 through 1918. Produced some 100 tons of ore averaging about 9% Cu, 8% Pb, 13 oz. Ag/T, and minor gold.
