A former small underground Au-Ag-Pb-Zn-Cu mine located in the center of sec. 8, T.21S., R.10E., 3 miles N of Arivaca. Produced 1932-1942. Owned at times, or in part, by the Backbone Mining Co.; and, Walsh. NOTE: Alternate coordinates provided: 31.6142N, 111.3411W.

Mineralization is irregular quartz-fissure lenses with spotty auriferous and argentiferous galena and othe sulfides in Laramide granitic intrusives. Near surface enrichment of gold and silver by oxidation and weathering.

Workings include a shaft(s) to a depth of 41.15 meters and length of 91.44 meters. Worked from the 1930's into the 1940's. Produced some 140 tons of ore averaging about 0.5 oz. Au/T, 0.8 oz. Ag/T, traces of Cu and 1% Pb. The zinc was not recovered.
