74 named mines and trials are known to have been located in the area around Wendron (see map http://www.poldark-mine.co.uk/wendron.htm).

Further information can be found in the (rare) "Wendron Tin" and on the website of Poldark Mine, a visitor centre offering trips into Wheal Roots, a tin mine originally worked sometime between 1720 and 1780, and which became part of Wendron Consols Mine in 1856.
