Tin mine which at one time had the largest waterwheel on the moor, 60 feet dia. x 2.5 feet.

As of Nov. 2020, the site appears as a deep cutting down the hillside partly grown with trees and partly open with extensive mounds of lichen covered stones. The stones are a mix of coarse granite with large feldspar phenocrysts (Tor Granite) and quartz-tourmaline pegmatite. Towards the lower end of the site where it is wooded by larger mature trees a small stream issues from a low opening and a shallow drainage trench has been dug. Whether this is a drainage adit or the tail race for the wheel mentioned above is unclear but no clear indication of a wheel pit was seen in the time available.
