Developed in the 1840-50s as varied small-scale shallow workings by various short-lived companies such as Hemsworthy, Ilsington, Somerset, and Teignmouth mines.

Reworked from 1851-56 as Haytor Consols, the set including the Hemsworthy workings together with Bagtor Mine on the south-east and eastwards to Crownley Parks Mine.

The mine worked North Lode, Middle Lode and South Lode from Old Engine Shaft producing 16 tons of black tin between 1853 and 1855. Now very overgrown.
