A former small underground Ag-Cu-Au-Pb-Zn mine located in South-central sec. 15, T.16S., R.4E. (protracted)(also secs. 14, 22 & 23 ?), 10 miles NNW of Sells. Produced 1949-1952. Owned by the Sun Gold Mining Co.
Mineralization is ore in irregular, lenses and pods in a partly oxidized quartz vein with dolomite stringers and spotty sulfides, including ruby silver, along a strong fracture zone cutting Cretaceous (?) andesite flows. Pockets of high-grade gold values. The host rock unit is diorite. An associated rock unit is andesite.
Workings include shallow shaft operations. Worked sporadically during 1949-1952, producing a small tonnage of ore averaging about 3.7 oz. Au/T, 11% Pb, 8 oz. Ag/T, 3% Zn & 1% Cu.
