A former small underground Pb-Ag-Cu-Au-Zn mine located in the NE ΒΌ sec. 18, T.18S., R.17E., 30 miles SE of Tucson on private land. First produced 1917. Closed 1940. Owned at times, or in part, by E.P. Hilton, B. Morales, and, Driggs.
Mineralization is small, irregular replacement orebodies of base metal carbonates in faulted Permian limestone with associated Laramide intrusive dikes.
Workings are shallow openings. Worked sporadically from the early 1900's to 1940. The group of the Justice-Red Top-LaPlata mines produced some 50 tons of ore averaging about 23% Pb, 6 oz. Ag/T and minor Zn, Cu & Au.
