A former small underground Cu-Ag-Mo mine located in the NW ¼ sec. 31, T.17S., R.17E., about 1½ miles south of the California Mine and 7 miles SW of Pantano. Discovered and located in 1890. Relocated in 1894 and owned by John DeMent & Otto Schley.

Mineralization is a tabular ore body with oxidized copper minerals along a mineralized fault or shear zone, 20 feet (6.1 meters) or more wide, dipping 50W, in brecciated Paleozoic limestone. This fault marks the contact between the dark limestone and the light limestone, both of which are brecciated. An associated rock unit is granite.

At the end of the tunnel the upper 3 feet or more of the ledge, consisting of reddish-brown iron and copper-stained material, dips 50ºW.

The gangue associated with the ore in the lower part of the incline is said to be 6 or 7 feet of limy talcose or kaolin-like material.

Workings include a 30 degree incline tunnel and a 90 foot (27.43 meters), 30º incline. Worked in the 1890's, producing about 10 tons of 9% Cu ore.
