Bergwerkswald, Lindener Mark, Gießen (Giessen), Hessen, Deutschland
Manganese deposit, hosted by devonian limestones. The orebody was disseminated by clefts including Co and Ni minerals. Formerly worked through an open cut by the 'Gießener Braunsteinbergwerke', but this is now largely backfilled. Though, some overgrown dumps remain in the forest south of Gießen (so-called Bergwerkswald - separate locality).
