An iron and copper mine started about 1850. Located on the East end of Finksburg. Ore is in a silvery schist. Workings include a depth of about 365 feet (120 meters)[the South Mine was only about 100 feet deep to the first level] with 2 mine levels at 100 & 160 feet, each about 200 yards (190 meters) long.
