A former underground Au-Ag-magnesite mine located in the SE¼ sec. 21, T.19N., R.20W., about 1½ miles SW of Oatman. Owned by the German-American Mining Co. (1903- ). Started 1902. Worked 1903 to 1906; some activity in 1925, 1930 & 1932.

Mineralization is the Pioneer vein that strikes N.13ºW. and dips 80ºE. The hanging wall is Oatman Andesite and its footwall for 2,000 feet is Alcyone Trachyte. It intersects the Gold Dust-Boundary Cone fault zone at an angle of about 40º without offset of either vein. Near the Pioneer shaft the vein is widest at 18 feet and consists of coarse-grained, gray calcite and quartz. Several small orebodies were mined toward the South end of the vein. One, near the Treadwell shaft, was 400 feet long by a maximum width of 3½ feet, but terminated abruptly near the 400 foot level. North of the Thirty-Fifth Parallel shaft, a shoot about 200 feet long by 3 feet wide yielded ore.

Workings included the 3 shafts (the Thirty-fifth Parallel [southernmost] at 220 feet deep [1921]; the Treadwell [next northerly] at 340 feet; and, the Pioneer shaft at 420 feet deep). Produced some 2,700 tons of ore (1903-1906).
