Ref.: The Minerals of New York City & Its Environs, New York Mineralogical Club Bull. Vol. 3, No. 1, Manchester, J.G. (1931): 96. This locality sets on the northern end of the Precambrian Franklin marble belt.
The Town of Warwick covers approximately 104 sq. miles and includes most of the northern end of the main Franklin marble outcrop area. This is distinct from the Village of Warwick which is a built up area, east of the marble belt, incorporated within the Town.
Most of the minerals listed for Warwick are from the Franklin marble and should be given more specific locality names such as "Amity", "Edenville", Mounts Adam and Eve, etc. The best known of the sublocalities are Amity and Edenville. These two very small settlements are about 2 miles apart and essentially represent the same area.
