A former small underground Cu-Ag-Au-Pb mine located on 20 claims in North central sec. 13, T.18S., R.23E. (Black Diamond Peak 7.5 minute topo map), approximately 2 miles NW of Black Diamond Peak. Produced 1905-1979. Owned/operated at times, or in part, by the Dragoon Copper Mining & Smelting Co.; and, the Giacoma Brothers. Operated by Mr. Eval Britton (1979).
Mineralization is copper carbonates, bornite, and chalcopyrite with minor galena and lead carbonate in irregular, pyrometasomatic replacements in Cretaceous Bisbee Group limestone along a contact with a porphyry (Stronghold Granite) intrusion.
Local structures include east-dipping, NW-trending thrust sheets. Also, steep dipping to overturned Cretaceous beds; complex Tertiary faulting of Paleozoic and Cretaceous sediments; and Tertiary intrusives exist in the area.
Workings include tunnel and shaft operations with 4 short tunnels and a 465 foot deep shaft. A total of some 250 tons of ore were produced in 1905 and 1948. Tailings pile production in 1979.
