A Au-Cu-Pb-Mo prospect located in the NW ¼ sec. 33, T.30N., R.17W.
Mineralization is a feldspathic vein 45 to 60 cm thick with a well-developed quartz core. The vein strikes N.55ºW. and almost verticle dip. Quartz-carbonate-pyrite-chalcopyrite stringers cut the South end of the vein. The stringers are up to 5 cm thick and strike N-S, dipping 70 to 75º E. The NE wall of the vein is a 5 cm thick crumbly fault gouge; whereas the SW wall of the vein is healed to country rock. A second quartz-carbonate vein strikes N.10-15ºE. approximately ½ of the way to the top of the hill from this locality and approximately 60 meters S.10ºE. of the termination of the first vein described. The second vein is 10 to 20 cm thick, locally brecciated, and shows no apparent copper staining or sulfides. Rock fragments in the second vein are intensely sericitized. There are several pegmatites of the quartz-cored and related types which strike N.50º-60ºW. and are also cut by quartz-carbonate veins.
