A former surface Cu-Pb-Th mine with underground workings located on 33 claims South of Mescal Canyon and 1 mile SE of Jerome. Claims extended into sec. 35.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in the Deception Rhyolite and the Cleopatra Quartz Porphyry (greenstone) with 2 feet (0.6 meters) of 5% copper ore in a fissure vein. Ore control was stratigraphy and igneous activity. Ore concentration was oxidation at near surface. Alteration included chloritization and sericitization.
Area structures include massive sulfide lenses elongate parallel to bedding in metavolcanic rocks. Foliation in metavolcanic rocks trends N10W TO N40W.
Workings include a 1,300 foot deep shaft and older shafts at the South end at 640 feet and 500 feet deep.
