The mine appears to have no records befor 1881 Othere than a tunnel had been driven 500ft (153mts)northward to intersect lodes worked to the east in Wheal Langford, Wheal Brothers, and Silver Valley. Under the name of Silver Hill in 1881-3 the level was extended by 280 fathoms (513mts). The level cut four lodes, Blend, Dreamer's, Copper, and Wheal Brothers. It would seem that none of the lodes where of any value. Some development work was done on the Wheal Brothers lode above the level.
