Go 2.5 miles W of Texas highway 283 at Truscott on Texas highway 1756. Turn N 0.4 mile, then W 3.1 miles. Turn S for 1.6 miles to Alexander Ranch headquarters. Adits should be about 800 feet NW of the ranch house, W of the road.
A Cu deposit hosted in the Middle Permian-Late Permian Flowerpot Shale. The ore body strikes NNE and dips 30 feet/mile WNW or less, at a thickness of 1.22 meters and a depth-to-top of 0 meters. Controls for ore emplacement included a reducing environment, stratigraphic, Sabkha? Richard (1915, P. 645) said that there was 4 feet of clay with copper minerls in a syncline and the rock assayed at 4% Cu. Local rocks include rocks of the Permian (Guadalupe Series) Blaine Formation.
Regional geologic structures include a gentle WNW dip of 30 feet/mile or less off Bend Arch.
Workings include underground openings comprised of 4 adits over an area of 64.752 HA. A mill was constructed on site.
