The Mazatzal Mountain Range is a prominent, well-defined mountain ridge in central Arizona, with a trend a little west of north and a length of of about 40 miles. It lies between Verde River on the west and Tonto Creek on the east, both streams flowing southward into the Salt River. From North Peak in the north to Salt River, the crest of the range has been made the boundary line between Gila and Maricopa Counties.
