A couple of small quarries in the upper Mendig lava flow ("Mendiger Mühlsteinlava"), a nephelinite-leucite-tephrite. The quarries are located in the northern part of Mendig city (Niedermendig), in the area of Hotel Hansa.
Xenolits (subvolcanites, crystalline schists, Ca-rich rocks).
