The old nickel and copper mines of Palhal and Telhadela are located near Albergaria-a-Velha town, District of Aveiro.
The article of Marques de Sá & Leal Gomes (2010) reviews the mineralogy of these mines (numerous species having recently been discovered, based on an exhaustive sampling on the dumps).
Discovered in 1744 (?). Last mine works in 1889.
