A group of 2 former surface Mn claims/mine located in sec. 15, T7N, R16W, 6 miles NE of Bouse at 1,350 feet of altitude, on BLM-administered land. Started/discovered April, 1918.

Mineralization is a replacement deposit with a tabular ore body as veins in Miocene volcanics. The deposits occur along a shear zone which trends S65ºW and dips steeply NW. This zone can be traced for 1,000 feet or more, but the manganese deposits within it are apparently local. One principal orebody is 25 feet (7.62 meters) long and 2 feet (0.61 meters) wide uncovered. The manganese oxides occur as the cementing material of breccia and which replace in part the andesite fragment. Psilomelane is more abundant at the surface, but at depths of a few feet the pyrolusite predominates.

Dominant rocks in the vicinity of the manganese deposit are Tertiary lava flows comprised principally of red biotite andesite. They are flanked, or more or less covered by angular debris.

Workings comprise a 10 foot (3 meter) deep prospect hole dug at point where manganese float was abundant. About 30 tons of ore was stacked on the dump in 1918, and 100 tons of ore production by 1941.
