Waygate Shaft is at the southern end of the vein about at its junction with Lochnell Vein.
Straitstep vein ( also called Margarets vein, and Whytes Cleuch Vein) courses approximately NNW-SSE for about 1 mile. Straitstep vein was also developed from the Bay Mine shaft.The dump at Waygate shaft in 1987 produced the best examples of Veszelyite in the UK.
