A group of 4 manganese claims/mine. A past producer of Mn ore. Located on 4 claims about 1 mile S.20ºE. from the end line of the U.S. group of claims, at about 2,400 feet of altitude. Discovered 1915. Owned by Gallagher & Flynn.
33.73583; -113.18250.
Low hills composed of granite, though patches of the Tertiary lava flows are found here & there on the claims & completely overlie the granite a short distance to the North.
The deposit consists of 3 veins or brecciated zones. The 2 outer veins are 850 feet apart, strike from N.5ºE. to N.10ºW. and dip steeply West. Brecciated zones are about 10 feet wide. The veins or breccias are contained in granite & schist. Most ore is in narrow seams of oxides that cement together & partly replace fragments of granite from 1 inch to 1 foot diameter.
Workings include a 30 foot deep shaft; two 12 foot deep prospect holes and an open cut. Production was about 70 tons of ore at over 40% Mn (1918).
