Geronimo claims (Geronimo group; Cochise group; Beard claims), Steamboat Mountain area, Banner District, Dripping Spring Mts, Pinal Co., Arizona, USA

A former surface and underground Mn-Ba (Baryte) group of claims/mine/prospect located on 7 unpatented claims in sec. 24, T4S, R14E and in secs. 18 & 19, T4S, R15E, about 1½ mile S of Steamboat Mountain, and about 2¾ miles ENE of Kearny, on state land. Discovered 1963. Owned by Ms Florence Neatherlin (1941).

Mineralization involves zones of fracturing and brecciation, N20°W. The host rock unit is the Big Dome Formation (sandstone, conglomerate & tuff). The ore zone strikes N20W and dips vertically to steep SE at 1.22 meters wide. Lenses are up to a few tens of feet, widths up to 4 feet. Four parallel zones 50 to 200 feet apart.

Workings include scattered discovery pits and open cuts.

1942 assay was 30.2% Mn.
