Ninteenth century lead mine worked by the Beaumont family. Horse level is driven as a crosscut to Westernhope Old Vein then worked NW and SE along the vein. Now collapsed at the end of the crosscut.
Grid ref. given is for the Horse Level. There are extensive openworks and a further level (Martindale's Level at SD918343) from the bottom of these.
