Søve Mine, Fen complex, Nome, Telemark, Norway

(Søve gruve, Fensfeltet, Nome, Telemark, Norge)

A niobium mine, operated from 1956 to 1965. The ore was a pyrochlore-bearing (0.5%) apatite-calcite-magnetite rock with minor amounts of pyrite. Access to the mine is blocked because the headframe collapsed into the shaft below it.
