Ancienne mine du Grand Maleval (ou du filon Chaliac)
This was one of the biggest lead and zinc mine in the Ardèche department, started in 1890 and closed in 1914 (due to the WW1).
This mine (located in the Lagau ravine) had operated a long quartz vein with many sulphides (called "filon Chaliac"), hosted in micaschists and a porphyroïd granite. Some vugs in this vein contained nice sulphides crystals (especially galena and stibnite) that are today in some old collections. All adits are now collapsed but some dumps remain along the vein.
