Barytes mine on SW slope of Herdship Fell working the Dubbysike = Force Burn Vein. Older workings included an opencut (grid ref. given)in the Tynebottom Limestone, a level underneath this (NY79603193) and a crosscut adit, Hunter's Level (NY79343160). At lower horizons, Muse's Level (NY788316) was was driven in the sandstone on top of the Whin Sill, and a shaft was sunk (NY78623154) on Bother Mere into the sill itself.
Later workings are a new crosscut adit (NY79533194) driven by the Hedworth Barium Co. in WWI and a new shaft (NY79513198) by the Wrentnall Baryte Co. sunk in WWII (1940). The mine was still under lease as late as 1984 by Sanbar Ltd.
