A placer gold deposit area about 12 miles SW of Hereford.
Mineralization is placer gravels that occur along the canyon bottom for a length of about 3 miles. Gold-bearing gravels contain numerous sub-angular boulders up to seeral feet in diameter and more or less iron-stained sand, but practically no clay. Most gold occurs on or near the bedrock.
