(m. 39 on s.l.) This mine is known from Iron Age, because his limonite is Mn rich and so it was possible to obtain a Mn-steel more than 2500 years ago!
Cape Bianco is situated at the north end of Barbarossa beach, 1 km NE of the spanish fortress of Porto Azzurro.
Modern exploitation start in 1880 and end in 1940 (exhausted): orebody was limonite and hematite.
