An old mine worked a section of the Daren-Cwmsymlog fault/vein system. The mine may be pre-Roman but this is unproven. Old tools were found when the mine was reopened in 1850. These could have been from 1700 centry workings on the vein. The 1850 reopening only lasted untill 1856. When the mine was taken over by the owners of the Daren mine, but the mine was not worked. There was a brife trial in 1863. In 1920 the Twlly y Mwyn section was investigated, no production is recorded.
