UK Grid Reference: SS980947
Latitude: 51°38'28"N
Longitude: 3°28'27"W
Originally recorded as linnaeite, from an unnamed location in the Rhondda Valley, by des Cloizeaux in 1880. More recent analysis has led to its reclassification as siegenite (Bevins & Horák, 1985), which has now been found to occur sparingly across the coalfield. The map reference points to the site of the Gelli Colliery dumps, a location in the Rhondda where where siegenite has recently been found.
