Photo: Maggie Wilson The Echo Bay mine operated during the 1960's and 70's producing silver from a Five-Element Type ore deposit. Unlike the nearby Eldorado mine, also a Five-Element Type ore deposit, the vein system at the Echo Bay site was not rich in uranium. Echo Bay ore was processed using the Eldorado mill at Port Radium.
