The Echo Bay mine operated during the 1960's and 70's producing silver from a Five-Element Type ore deposit. Unlike the nearby Eldorado mine, also a Five-Element Type ore deposit, the portion of the vein system at the Echo Bay mine site was not rich in uranium. Echo Bay ore was processed using the Eldorado mill at Port Radium.
Situated just east of Port Radium and south of the SW corner of Crossfault Lake.
