Quarry in an inlier exposing Proterozoic quartzite. The quartzite has been extensively brecciated and re-healed with white quartz. Vugs in the white quartz contain clay, quartz crystals and hematite rosettes. Drilling has revealed granitic rock at depth, which could be the source of the brecciation and hydrothermal mineralization. The mound is flanked by Cambrian strata, including a boulder conglomerate with large clasts of quartzite.
