A Au-Ag vein located by accident during the driving of the railroad tunnel. It is located on the Poland, Hamilton and Belle claims, 800 feet from the South portal of the tunnel. Started in 1900 and worked intermittently until 1912, then also during 1926, 1930-1931 & 1934. Owned by F. Gibbs & Associates (1934).
Mineralization is the Poland vein of quartzose ore. The vein strikes NE & dips steeply NW.
Workings include several thousand feet of drifts and a shaft to 325 foot below the railroad tunnel level. A 20-stamp mill was erected on the site. Production was some $130,465 of Au (period values) and 16,609 oz. Ag. Total value of production estimated at $750,000 (period values).
