UK Grid Reference: SH781826
Latitude: 53°19'33"N
Longitude: 3°49'49"W
A Victorian copper mine dating from 1835 that started much later than the other two Gt Orme mines and that was geographically separated from then.
Working was via the Ty Gwyn shaft (SH781826) and the Ty Gwyn adit, whose portal (SH782827)lies near the current pier.
Originally successful, Ty Gwyn initially produced ore worth £93,000 over 12 years, but flooding was a problem and the mine closed in the early 1850s.
The Great Orme Exploration Society website
http://www.goes.org.uk has much information about, and photographs of, the three Gt Orme mines.
